BUYING A HOME

You can start with a question.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. Whether you’re browsing or preparing to move, we can take the next step at a pace that feels right.

Start with a Home Strategy Session.

What do you want a move to make possible? In a Home Strategy Session, we can organize your priorities, timing, and open questions. You leave with a practical next step—even if that step is to wait.

Understand how we’ll work together.

In our first conversation, we’ll introduce the buyer representation agreement. Before we tour homes together, we’ll review and sign it if you choose to work with me. It is a binding agreement with my brokerage, REAL, that explains the services, the homes and time period it covers, and compensation.

We’ll discuss whether representation is exclusive, how the agreement can end, and any obligations that may continue. Fees are negotiable and are not set by law. A seller may contribute toward them, but that is not guaranteed; we’ll explain what you could owe before you sign. You’ll have time to read, ask questions, and decide.

Find a comfortable starting point.

Before focusing on an asking price, consider the monthly costs you want to take on. A lender can help you understand financing options and estimated payments. We can use that information to give your search more direction.

Explore, then narrow the possibilities.

Use your priorities to compare homes: what is ideal, what is acceptable, and what would not work? During tours, we’ll distinguish what you notice from what needs professional verification. Your Buyer Journey Workbook can help keep questions and tradeoffs organized.

Take the next step with context.

When a property feels promising, we’ll talk through price, terms, tradeoffs, and open questions. You can choose to offer, revise your plan, wait, or decline. If an offer is accepted, we’ll organize the next decisions and coordinate with the professionals involved.
